  • How to De-Clutter Your Closets

    Posted on May 08 2017

Closets often become a catch-all area for things that have no other place in the home and this leads to excess clutter and disorganization in the closet. De-cluttering your closets can be challenging but neat and organized closets mean that you can easily find everything you need. The principle behind organizing a closet is basically the same whether it’s your clothing closet or any other closet in your home. The following tips can help you de-clutter and organize all your closets so that you can always find exactly what you’re looking for.

    Plan Ahead

Cleaning closets takes time and it’s important to tackle the job when you have enough time to get it done. Be sure to have large trash bags, boxes, and storage bins on hand. The trash bags are for anything not worth donating. Cardboard boxes are ideal for donations and the storage bins can be used to store sentimental items that you simply can’t get rid of.

  • Easy Tips for De-cluttering Your Home

    Posted on July 17 2016

Clutter in the home can cause stress and anxiety, but it’s often difficult to get the motivation and time to de-clutter. Having less stuff in your home can lead to a more peaceful place to rest and live. When you begin the process of cleaning out your home, it’e best to start small. Don’t try any large projects unless you have plenty of time to get them done. Also, be sure that you have a place to put unwanted items and have a plan to get them out of the house as soon as possible so they don’t find their way back into your living space. Most important of all, understand that to de-clutter an entire home is a process and it doesn’t have to be done quickly. The following de-cluttering tips can help you on the path of creating a peaceful and beautiful living space.

    Start Small:
Begin your de-clutter project with a small area, but one that will make an impact. If you have an entryway that tends to collect random things, begin with it. Perhaps you have a junk drawer that never allows you to find what you need or it may be that your closet needs work? Allow yourself 10-15 minutes to work on the area. Begin with things that are obviously trash and keep a trash bag at hand to throw things away immediately. A box for items to donate should also be close by. Once your time is up, you can keep going if you feel like it or take a break if you’ve been overwhelmed. Even 10-15 minutes a day will allow for significant cleaning time for the week.

  • Organizing Your Closet Reduces Daily Stress

    Posted on May 13 2016

Organizing your closet might seem like a challenge, but if you follow certain steps, then the process is easy. More importantly, after a closet is organized, you can find items without feeling stressed because the space is filled with an assortment of items that you no longer need. The first thing you need to do is take everything out of the closet to determine what to get rid of along with deciding where the remaining items will go. Before beginning a closet-cleaning process, make sure to have enough time to complete the job, and prepare by having supplies such as boxes and cleansers.

    One: Reduce Closet Clutter

The closets in a home become catchalls for everything when it is time to straighten a room before guests arrive, but when it is time for organizing your closet, it essential to purge items. For bedroom closets that contain clothing, footwear and accessories, you should try on the items to get rid of the things that do not fit or that are in bad condition. You can give these items to charitable organizations or have a yard sale. If anything is in the wrong closet, then put it in a box to relocate it to the proper place.

With warmer breezes blowing, you’ll be inspired to open your windows, air out your home and begin your spring cleaning. It’s great to get in there and really start cleaning the home after a long winter. However, that’s only the first step to creating a lovely, uncluttered home the rest of the year. It’s important that your spring cleaning also includes setting yourself up for continued success in keeping your home clean and organized by taking the following steps.

    Managing Your Items

Once you’ve cleaned your home, you need to find a way to manage your things in the future. Cleaning your home once a year isn’t the greatest way to gain the most enjoyment out of your space. You need to be realistic about how you manage the items that come into the home. Be realistic about what you’ll use and what will be hard to manage. A front entry with adorable boxes tied in ribbons might be magazine-worthy. If the idea of untying the box each time you need to use it makes you cringe, it’s not something that will fit with your lifestyle.
