A new way of living will be unveiled in January of 2017 at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show or KBIS. The Virginia Tech Center for Design Research will be showing off a new concept of home building that involves cartridges or modules that are easy to plug in and use immediately. This model is adaptable and easy to maneuver to meet the needs of the buyer.
Closet storage is no longer a problem in this customizable bedroom design. Your clothes are brought to you instead of you searching through the drawers in a physical fashion. You simply swipe them across the glass screen that is one wall of the bedroom in your virtual closet and select the option you want. The smart closet brings the items to you and takes the dirty clothes away to the clothes hamper on the way out if that is what you want. The system is tailored with RFID’s to fit your needs before being built.

Clutter in the home can cause stress and anxiety, but it’s often difficult to get the motivation and time to de-clutter. Having less stuff in your home can lead to a more peaceful place to rest and live. When you begin the process of cleaning out your home, it’e best to start small. Don’t try any large projects unless you have plenty of time to get them done. Also, be sure that you have a place to put unwanted items and have a plan to get them out of the house as soon as possible so they don’t find their way back into your living space. Most important of all, understand that to de-clutter an entire home is a process and it doesn’t have to be done quickly. The following de-cluttering tips can help you on the path of creating a peaceful and beautiful living space.
Start Small:
Begin your de-clutter project with a small area, but one that will make an impact. If you have an entryway that tends to collect random things, begin with it. Perhaps you have a junk drawer that never allows you to find what you need or it may be that your closet needs work? Allow yourself 10-15 minutes to work on the area. Begin with things that are obviously trash and keep a trash bag at hand to throw things away immediately. A box for items to donate should also be close by. Once your time is up, you can keep going if you feel like it or take a break if you’ve been overwhelmed. Even 10-15 minutes a day will allow for significant cleaning time for the week.

If you have never tried this organization process you should consider it, because it is a tried and true method to organize your closet. Here is how to proceed:
1) The Three Magic Piles: Take everything out and make three piles. One is to keep, one is to donate or sell, and one is trash. Before you organize anything, you need to reduce it down to the items you will actually use. Having a closet full of stuff that you never wear is not beneficial. It is a waste of space and trying to organize items that need to go is a waste of time and effort.

Organizing your closet drawers makes it easier to find the items needed to get dressed in the morning for work or in the evening for special events. Walk-in closets often have organizational systems that include clothing rods at different levels, shelves in a variety of sizes and drawers that are similar to a chest of drawers. Instead of shoving garments into a closet’s drawers in a willy-nilly fashion, store things properly to avoid damaging the items along with making it easier to find things. You can also organize the drawers that are in pieces of furniture throughout a home.
One: Dump out the Drawers
Dump everything out of all of the drawers onto a tabletop, bed or floor in order to choose what you need to keep or throw away. Have a trash bag ready to toss out socks with holes, and you may want to make a pile of items that require repair. If you no longer need a gently-worn garment, then place it in a container to donate it to a charity.
